    The RMA805 Enraf FlexLine Remote Indicator provides a means of remote-mounting a display that is associated with a Honeywell Enraf FlexLine Gauge. The Remote Indicator can be located hundreds of meters away from the FlexLine Gauge providing easy access to data.

    Remote Indicator Nameplate The Remote Indicator name plate at the top of the electronics housing (see Figure 1) lists model number, physical configuration, electronics options, accessories, certifications, and manufacturing specialties.     Mounting the Remote Indicator Remote Indicator models can be attached to a two-inch (50.8 millimeter) vertical or horizontal pipe using Honeywell’s optional pipe mounting bracket. The Remote Indicator can also be wall mounted using Honeywell’s optional wall mounting bracket as shown in Figure 2.3.1...

Position the bracket on a 2-inch (50.8 mm) horizontal or vertical pipe, and install a “U” bolt around the pipe and through the holes in the bracket. Secure the bracket with (2) M10 hex nuts, (2) flat washers and (2) lock washers provided.

    Wiring a Remote Indicator 2.4.1 Introduction The Remote Indicator must be connected to the local HART compatible bus of the Enraf Smartradar FlexLine or the Enraf SmartServo 954. 2.4.2 Terminal Block The Remote Indicator has 3 terminals.     2.4.3 Electrical Wiring The Remote Indicator shall be connected to the Loop + and Loop - terminals of the FlexLine Gauge. Typically, these are terminals 24 and 25. See the installation manual of the FlexLine Gauge for more information. It is possible that other devices such as a VITO temperature convertor and a pressure transmitter must be connected to the same loop.

    3.2.2 Selecting a New Setting From a List of Choices Use the procedure described below to select a new setting for parameters that present a list of choices (e.g., PV display, Temperature Units, Pressure Units etc.). ↵ 1.     3.3.2 Device Setup Menu FlexLine Gauges are capable of driving 2 displays at the same time. However only 1 display can be showing actual data. Each device must have a different HART address. Only HART address 7 or 8 is allowed. Each display can be activated by pressing a button.

    Firmware versions After the initial startup screen the Remote Indicator will briefly show the currently installed firmware versions for both the Display and the Communication modules.     3.5.3 The Online Display The online display is divided in three main parts The top half of the Display shows the product level data as sent by the FlexLine Gauge to the Remote Indicator. Formatting, number of digits, decimal separator, Units, Various status information characters and the level type are all defined in the FlexLine Gauge.

    Setting the Jumpers On the Remote Indicator there is a failsafe jumper and a write protect jumper behind the display on the Communication Module. The top jumper is the failsafe jumper. The bottom jumper sets the write protect. Since the Remote Indicator is intended to be used in Digital Multidrop mode only it is highly recommended to put the failsafe jumper to DOWN (Downscale).

    Maintenance Overview This section provides information about preventive maintenance and upgrading firmware. Preventive Maintenance The RMA805 Enraf FlexLine Remote Indicator does not require any specific maintenance at regularly scheduled intervals. Maintenance of the Remote Indicator is limited to ensuring that connections, seals and mounting are tight and secure.
