[Automatically reset the connected device]
The update will start after the unit restarts.
A progress bar appears during the update
process (5 to 10 minutes).

Do not turn off the unit or disconnect the USB cable
under any circumstance while update is in progress.

disconnect the USB cable.

Press the UTILITY button on the unit to display
the [UTILITY 3/3] menu, and check that both
MAIN and SUB have been updated under
[VERSION].
This completes the update procedure.
[Notes]
ˎ Before using the unit after an update, be sure to check the
ˎ
values for each setting.
ˎ If the unit is operating abnormally after update of
ˎ
either the MAIN firmware or SUB firmware, disconnect
and connect the power cord. If you disconnected and
connected the power cord after update of the MAIN
firmware was complete, start update of the SUB firmware
after the reconnection. You do not need to update the
MAIN firmware again.
If the unit does not restart
ˎ If you updated the SUB firmware first, the unit
ˎ
may not restart automatically during update of
the MAIN firmware. In such cases, turn the unit
off/on manually. The update procedure will
continue after doing so.
ˎ If Firmware Updater times out without
ˎ
the unit restarting, execute the "Update_
MCX500V***MAIN.exe" file again.
For Mac OS
The software update is performed via two USB
ports; the MAIN port (rear panel) and the SUB port
(right side panel).

ˎ Be sure the follow the updating procedure precisely.
ˎ
ˎ If the power supply is cut off during the update
ˎ
procedure, the unit may become inoperable. Be careful to
avoid disconnection of the AC adapter's power cord and
the USB cable.
ˎ Remove any memory card from the unit beforehand.
ˎ
ˎ The following settings will revert to their factory default
ˎ
conditions after the update.
– Time
– Date
– Streaming settings (Ustream ID, password)
– Network settings (Streaming)
System Requirements
To update the MCX-500 unit's software, prepare
a computer that meets the following system
requirements.
Operating system (OS):
Mac OS X 10.9 to 10.11
macOS 10.12
macOS 10.13
Hard disk capacity: 300 MB or more
Memory (RAM) capacity: 512 MB or more
Preparing the Update Files

ˎ Close any other applications before performing the
ˎ
update procedure.
ˎ Do not connect the unit to the computer via USB cable at
ˎ
this point. If it is connected, disconnect it for now.
