STORAGE
PREPARATION
Proper storage preparation is essential for keeping your pump trouble-
free and looking good.
1. Wash the engine and pump.
2. Recoil start diesel engine,
(a) Set the decompression lever down and hold it while slowly pulling
the recoil starter 2 or 3 times. Do not start the engine.
(b) Pull the decompression lever up. Pull the recoil starter recoil
starter slowly and stop when there is resistance. This procedure
closes the intake and exhaust valves in the compression position and
prevent rust.
3. Remove the pump drain plug,
and flush the pump with clean,
fresh water. Allow the water to
drain from the pump chamber,
and then reinstall the drain plug.
4. After the pump is clean and dry,
touch up any damaged paint, and
coat areas that may rust with a
light film of oil.
