Soil Pipe Cutters
General Safety Information
WARNING! Read and understand all instructions. Failure
to follow all instructions listed below may re-
sult serious personal injury.

Work Area Safety
1. Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered
work area invites accidents.
2. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating soil pipe tools.
Do not use tools when tired or under the influence
of alcohol, or medications. A moment of inattention
may result in serious personal injury
3. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protec-
tion. Non-skid shoes and hard hat must be used for
appropriate conditions.
4. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and bal-
ance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables
better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Tool Use and Care
1. Use correct tool for your application. The correct
tool will do the job better and safer.
2 Periodically inspect the chain for damaged
wheels, links or pins. Do not use the tool if the
chain or any other part of the tool is broken,
damaged or shows excessive wear. Many acci-
dents are caused by poorly maintained tools.
3. Keep handles dry and clean; free from oil and
grease. Allow for better control of the tool.
Service
1. Tool service should be performed only by quali-
fied repair personnel. Service or maintenance
performed by unqualified personnel could result in in-
jury.
2. When servicing a tool, use only identical re-
placement parts. Use of unauthorized parts or failure
to follow maintenance instructions may increase the
risk of injury.

Specific Safety Information
WARNING! The high force exerted by the cutter may
cause the cut section of the pipe to fly with
considerable force. This can result in seri-
ous eye and/or bodily injury.
Soil Pipe Cutter Safety
1. Avoid standing close to end of pipe. Before ap-
plying the cutting force, be sure no other per-
sonnel are in the immediate area. Cut section of the
pipe can fly causing serious personal injury.
2. Do not exceed the recommended cutting capac-
ity for the different sizes and types of pipe. Im-
proper use of these tools can result in tool breakage
and/or serious personal injury.
3. Tools are designed to cut soil pipe. Follow care-
fully instructions on their proper use. Other uses
may increase the risk of injury.
4. Consult pipe manufacturer for pipe specifica-
tions and cutting instructions. Pipe material will
vary and may require special instructions and/or pro-
cedures.

Maintenance Instructions

NOTE: If any maintenance is required other than that
listed below, take tools to a RIDGID Authorizes
Service Center or return it to factory.
1. Keep tools clean and lubricated.
2. Keep cutter wheels sharp and avoid dragging the
chain during transport. Do not use if any of the cutter
wheels are broke or chipped.

Service and Repair

If any maintenance is required other than that outlined, the
tool should be sent to a RIDGID Independent Authorized
Center or returned to the factory. All repairs made by
Ridge service facilities are warranted against defects in
material and workmanship.
