    5. Power supply – This device may only be connected to the mains voltage with the supplied mains adapter. Use this adapter for the Compact Radio CR-ST50DAB only. In any case, make sure that the local mains voltage matches the specifications on the mains adapter. If you are unsure about the type of power supply in your home, contact your specialised dealer or power company.

    Before start-up Unpacking Carefully unpack the device and make sure all accessories are present: Operating instructions Mains adapter Inserting Batteries (not included) • Insert 4 R6 / AA / Mignon batteries into the radio, observing the correct polarity (+ and -). • The power supply via the batteries is switched off when the power is supplied via the mains adapter.

    Setting the display illumination The display illumination can be programmed in 3 brightness levels. The following settings can be made in the “Backlight” menu: “On level”: Brightness of the display when the radio is switched on. Choices: “High” / “Medium” / “Low” “Dim level”: Brightness adjustment for operation and standby. Choices: “High” / “Medium” / “Low” “Timeout”: Time until the display is adjusted to the lighting level in the "Dim setting".

    Setting the alarm clock The CR-ST50DAB can be set to 2 different alarm times. Furthermore, the alarm clocks can be pro- grammed for the following time blocks: "Daily" / "Once" / "Weekend" / "Weekdays". To set the alarm time, please proceed as follows: " 1. Turn on the radio and confirm with the button to select the FM source. 2. Press the <MENU>, button, select the „System“ menu using <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> and then press the knob.

    Manual tuning of ensembles • Press the <MENU> button to enter the DAB menu. • Turn the <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> knob until “Manual tune” appears in the display. • Pressing the knob confirms the function and the currently set station with the corresponding frequency is shown in the display. • Turn the <TUNE/AUTO/ENTER/uII> knob to manually select another channel. •...

    Expanded DAB + information With DAB + additional information is transmitted in addition to the music signal. These can be retrieved as follows. Press the <INFO> key to retrieve the following information in succession: • Signal level: Shown on the display by means of icons from left to right. The more icons displayed, the better the reception.

    Usage of Radio Data System (RDS) RDS is a broadcast system in which FM stations transmit useful information along with the actual broadcast signal. These can be extracted from the normal transmit signal and used for a number of additional functions. If an RDS signal is received, after some time the station name will be displayed instead of the frequency, and radio text will be displayed in the bottom line of the display (if support- ed by the station).     “Not Connected” will flash in the display and “Pairing” will sound. Pair BLUETOOTH devices The BLUETOOTH function allows the wireless transmission of music files (audio streaming) to the system. To pair devices (such as smartphones), proceed as follows: 1. Open the pairing function on your BLUETOOTH device and search for “CR-ST50DAB”. 2. Select “CR-ST50DAB” for pairing and wait until “Connected” appears in the display and “Device connected” is heard. The pairing is now complete. 3. If your BLUETOOTH device asks for a 4-digit PIN, please enter “0000”. 4. The BLUETOOTH device is now stored and will automatically be paired in the future. 5. To connect another BLUETOOTH device, please repeat steps 1 - 3.
