1.5 Selecting the Type
Select the country for the Board using service mode. This will set the parameters to suit
the type of telephone line used in the selected country.
1) In [FAX>Type] of service mode, select the name of the country; then, press the OK but-
ton on the touch panel.
For a 100V model, be sure to select [Standard].
2) Execute [ALL CLEAR]. Select [FAX>Clear>ALL], and press the OK button on the
touch panel.
3) Press the Reset button three times to return to the Initial screen.
4) Turn off and then on the main power.

1.6 Setting Telephone Number and the Type of Line

The discussions that follow are limited to the minimum settings that must be made to use
FAX functions. Be sure to register addresses for the electronic telephone book function and
make transmission/reception settings according to the needs of the user.
1) Make the following selections: user mode>custom fax settings>user settings >unit
name; then, register the name of the origin (which will appear on the header of faxes).
2) Make the following selections: user mode>custom fax settings>user settings >unit tele-
phone #; then, register the telephone number of the user.
3) Make the following selections: user mode>custom fax settings>user settings >tel line
type; then, select either tone or pulse to suit the type of telephone line used. (default:
tone)
