New message: Indicates that there is a
new message waiting to be viewed.
Vibration mode: Appears when the call
ringer type is set to Vibrate, or when
your phone is in Silent mode.
Battery status: Shows the level of your
battery. The more bars you see, the more
power you have remaining.
External display
Your phone has an external display on the front of
the phone. It indicates when you have an incoming
call or a message. It also alerts you at the specified
time when you have set an alarm. The backlight
turns on and the corresponding icon appears on the
external display.
When you close the phone, the display shows the
current time on a digital clock.
Backlight
The backlight illuminates the display and keypad.
When you press any key or open the phone, the
backlight turns on and remains on for a given
period of time, depending on the setting in the
Display/Light menu (MENU 8-2).
To specify the length of time for which the backlight
is active, set the Display/Light menu. See
page 146 for further details.

Service light

The service light on the front of the phone flashes
to indicate an incoming call, message, or alarm,
and flashes for a few seconds when you turn the
phone on or off.
You can select the time period for the service light
to blink in the Service LED menu (MENU 8-2-4).

Camera

The camera module at the top center of your phone
allows you to take a photo or record a video while
on the move.
