Setting Up IP Intercom For The First Time
With WiFi Room Stations Only
Introduction
This tech guide will step you though the steps to set up the HikVision Villa IP Intercom for
the first time when using the Wi-Fi room stations (104-829).
This will allow each of the Sub room stations (Wi-Fi room stations (104-829)) to connect to
the system by Wi-Fi rather than using a LAN cable. The Master room station and the door
station still need to be connected by a LAN cable.
There are 2 sections in this tech guide.
Section 1.1 (On page 3) will guide you through the step on how to access the IP Intercom in
the iVMS software.
Section 1.2 (On page 4) will guide you through how to connect 1 door station to many room
stations.

    Before you begin Ensure you have the iVMS-4200 software version 2.4.2.55 Build 20161209 installed on your computer. This can be downloaded from the Ness Website. Before you program your door and room stations ensure you have version 1.4.0 build 170302 or later installed. You can find the firmware version later on during the setup of the device.

  • Page 4 One Door Station to Many Room Stations Setup When setting up multiple room stations for the first time, it’s recommend to only connect one room station at a time. This will make it easy to work out what room station you are setting up.
  • Page 5 5. When prompted, enter in a password for this door station. This can be anything you want. You can use the same password as you use to login to iVMS which will make it easy to remember. If you ever want to reconfigure this door station at a later time, you will need to know this password.
  • Page 6 8. Make sure the IP says 192.0.0.65 and then enter in the password you used to activate the door station, and then click on OK. 9. Select the Door station from the bottom section and then click on ‘Add to Client’. 10.

  • Page 8 15. Set the SIP Server IP address to be your door station’s IP address. (192.0.0.65). Leave all the other settings as default. Once the IP has been set, press Save. 16. You now need to reboot the room station. Click on ‘System’ > ‘System Maintenance’ then click on ‘Reboot’.
  • Page 9 Master Room Station Setup Handy tip when setting up room stations, connect the room station you are configuring only, then plug the next one in etc. Connecting them all in together will make it hard to work out what room station you are configuring since they are all displaying in the list with the same IP address.

  • Page 14 Once the Master room station reboots and the UI is displayed on the room station, connect it to the customers Wi-Fi access point. 16. Find and tap on the WiFi tile from the home screen. 17. Enable the WiFi by tapping on the toggle button next to Enable Wi-Fi. 18.

  • Page 16 Sub Room Station Setup Although you are not going to connect the sub room stations with the LAN cable, it’s recommended to plug the sub room station into the switch while setting it up. Then later you can move it and connect it to a separate power supply. 1.

If it’s not then you will need to update the firmware before setting up the system. Refer to the firmware update tech note for steps on how to update the firmware.
