PURITY ADJUSTMENT
1. Using the remote controlier, cali the green-only
screen.Set the contrast control to have a beam cur-
rent of 1.4 mAo
2. Fullydegaussthe cathode ray tube with the degauss-
ing coil.
Note: The magnetic field adjustment is referred to in the
Production Communication Sheet. See the factory set-
tings table for the magnetic field.
3. Set the purity magnet to the zero magnetic field, and
roughly adjust the convergence. Now adjust the pu-
rity magnet to get the centering rank A.
4. Movethedeflection yoketoandfro,andobserve thepoints
"a"and"b"as shown in Fig.1-1 witha microscope.
Setthe landings to 20 urn.Insertanddrivethewedge
to keepthedeflection yokewellbalanced topandbottom.
4'. If the points"a" and "b" are poorlybalanced, correctthe
centering up to the rankAB.
5. Adjust theraster rotation to 0 eastward.
6. TIghten thedeflection coil lockscrewsTIghtening torque:

7. Checkthe corners on the cathode raytube screen. Cor-
rectthelandings, as required, to therankA byapplying the
magnetic sheet.
Note: Make this adjustment after warming up the unit at
the beam currentof 1400 +50 !lA for 30 minutesor longer.
If any other adjustment is made during the warming-up,
warm up the unit for 2 more minutes and start the purity
adjustment.
Note: Call the service mode with TP1001 (TP1002) and
press the single-colorkey on the process remote control-
ler, and the green-color screen comes up.
Note: After adjustingthe convergence, set the "a" and "b"
landings to 20 urn in advance.
2" SURROUNDING PURITY ADJUSTMENT
1. Make sure the deflection yoke (YPB) is positioned well. Receive the crosshatch signal and
move
the
deflection yoke to roughly adjust the YH and YV. (Fix the deflection yoke with the wedge within 30 seconds.)
2. Call up the green-only screen, and set the beam current to 1400 !lA.
3. With BH at 0 and BV as specified by the Production Communication Sheet, make sure the landings at the
corners are of rank A. If not, apply a purity correction magnet and readjust the landings.
The magnetic field adjustment is referred to in the ProductionCommunicationSheet.
