GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORDLESS HEDGE
TRIMMER
1. Avoid dangerous environment – don't use
appliances in damp or wet locations.
2. Don't use in rain.
3. Keep children away – All visitors should be kept at
a distance from work area.
4. Dress properly – do not wear loose clothing or
jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Use
of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is
recommended when working outdoors. Wear
protective hair covering to contain long hair.
5. Use safety glasses – Always use face shield or dust
mask if operation is dusty.
6. Use right appliance – Do not use appliance for any
job except that for which it is intended.
7. Avoid unintentional starting – Don't carry plugged-
in appliance with finger on switch. Be sure switch
is off when plugging in.
8. Danger – Risk of cut – Keep hands away from
blades – Keep both hands on handles when power
is on. Do not attempt to remove cut material nor
hold material to be cut when blades are moving.
Make sure appliance switch is off when clearing
jammed material from blades. Do not grasp the
exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when
picking up or holding the appliance.
Caution – blades coast after turn off.
9. Don't force appliance – It will do the job better and
with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for
which it was designed.
10. Don't overreach – Keep proper footing and balance
at all times.
11. Stay alert – Watch what you are doing. Use
common sense. Do not operate appliance when
you are tired.
12. Store idle appliance indoors – When not in use,
hedge trimmer should be stored indoors in dry, and
high or locked-up place – out of reach of children.
The blade case can be attached to the wall to
enable this.
13. Maintain hedge trimmer with care – Keep cutting
edge sharp and clean for best performance and to
reduce the risk of injury. Follow instructions for
lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect
hedge trimmer cord periodically, and if damaged,
have it repaired by an authorized service facility.
Inspect extension cords periodically and replace if
damaged. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from
oil and grease.

14. Check damaged parts – Before further use of the
hedge trimmer, a guard or other part that is
damaged should be carefully checked to determine
that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for alignment of moving
parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts,
mounting, and any other condition that may affect
its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged
should be properly repaired or replaced by an
authorized service center unless indicated
elsewhere in this manual.
15. Don't grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting
edges when picking up or holding the appliance.
a. Do not charge appliance in rain, or in wet
locations.
b. Do not use battery-operated appliance in rain.
c. Remove or disconnect battery before
servicing, cleaning, or removing material
from the appliance.
16. Before starting work make sure there are no power
cables in the work area. The blade could come into
contact with the power cable causing electric
shock, ground faults and other accidents.
17. Hold the tool firmly with both hands during use to
prevent injury.
18. Keep your hands and all parts of the body away
from the blade to prevent contact that could lead
to injury.
19. Make sure the blade and all accessories are
properly installed. Improper installation could
cause the blade or accessories to come loose
resulting in an injury.
20. Make sure the blade is not cracked, deformed or
excessively worn before starting work. Do not use
a blade in this condition as it could break and cause
injury.
21. Do not use the tool to cut wire, metal plates or
other hard objects. The tool could be damaged and
cause injury.
22. If the tool does not work normally and is producing
strange noise, turn it off immediately and have it
inspected and repaired.
23. If the tool falls or strikes against an object, check
the blade and the body for damage, cracking and
deformation. Use of a damaged, deformed or
cracked blade could result in injury.
24. Do not disassemble the blade. This may result in
injury.
25. This product generates vibration during operation.
This makes long continuous work physically
strenuous so avoid a poor work posture and be
sure to take frequent rests. Also during short work
periods, stop work immediately to take a rest when
your fingers, hands, arms or shoulders become
tired.
26. Use gloves, or cloth to protect your hands when
handling the blade. Careless handling may lead to
injury.
27. Do not expose the blade to excessive pressure
during cutting as the blade could be damaged.
