Charging the battery pack

Warning
Do not peel off or scratch the plastic cover on the battery
pack.
Charge the battery pack for more than 10 hours
before you start using your phone.
1 Slide open the battery compartment lid of
the handset.
2 Connect the battery connector with the
correct polarity (black and red cords).

3 Hook the cords and insert the battery
pack.
4 Close the lid.
5 Connect the charger to an AC outlet and
place the handset on the charger.
Make sure you place it with the button side
facing out.

Note
Do not disconnect the charger cord while the battery pack is
being charged.
Battery duration
A fully charged battery pack lasts for
– approx. 6 hours when you use the handset
continuously, and
– approx. 240 hours (10 days) when the handset is
left unused without being placed on the charger.
If you are not going to use the handset for more than
10 hours, fully charge the battery pack and remove
the battery pack from the handset.
If the battery pack is exhausted while in use
E flashes on the display and a short beep is heard.
In order to talk on the base phone, do the following:
1 Press
on the handset.

2 Place the handset on the charger or press
3 Pick up the receiver from the base phone.
Return the handset to the charger and have it
charged for more than 10 hours.
When to purchase a new battery pack
If the battery lasts only for a few minutes even after
10 hours of charging, the usable life of the battery has
expired and the battery pack must be replaced.
Contact your local Sony dealer or service center and
ask for a Sony BP-T50 rechargeable battery pack.
We recommend you return the handset to the
charger for charging after every use.
