2017 Honda Ridgeline Owner's Manual Summary
New Owner Info:
During the first 600 miles (1,000 km) of operation, avoid sudden acceleration or full throttle operation
so as not to damage the engine or powertrain.
Avoid hard braking for the first 200 miles (300 km). You should also follow this when the brake pads are
replaced.
Do not hold the ENGINE START/STOP button to start the engine. If the engine does not start, wait at
least 30 seconds before trying again.
You may hear a motor sound coming from the engine compartment while system checks are being
performed immediately after starting the engine or while driving. This is normal.
The smart entry remote battery lasts about two years. See page 541 for replacing the remote battery. This
changes by how often you use the remote.
We do not recommend driving your vehicle with the VSA® system switched off.
Do not continuously spin the front tires of your vehicle. Continuously spinning the front tires can cause
transmission or rear differential damage.

Storing a Position in Memory:
◦ Set the power mode to ON. Adjust the driver's seat and door mirrors to the desired position.
◦ Press the SET button. You will hear the beeper, and the memory button indicator light will blink.
◦ Press and hold memory button (1 or (2 within five seconds of pressing the SET button. Once the seat
and the outside mirror positions have been memorized, the indicator light on the button you pressed
stays on.
Recalling the Stored Position
◦ Move the shift lever to (P)
◦ Apply the parking brake.
◦ Press a memory button ((1 or (2). You will hear a beep, and the indicator light will blink.
*When you enter the vehicle, the multi-information display briefly shows you which remote transmitter
you used to unlock the vehicle. DRIVER 1 transmitter is linked to memory button 1. DRIVER 2
transmitter is linked to memory button 2.
Wallpaper setup:
◦ When importing wallpaper files, the image must be in the USB flash drive's root directory. Images in
a folder cannot be imported.
◦ The file name must be fewer than 64 characters.
◦ The file format of the image that can be imported is BMP (bmp) or JPEG (jpg).
◦ The individual file size limit is 2 MB.
◦ The maximum image size is 1,920 x 936 pixels. If the image size is less than 480 × 234 pixels, the
image is displayed in the middle of the screen with the extra area appearing in black.
◦ Up to 255 files can be selected.
◦ If the USB flash drive does not have any pictures, the No compatible images were found. See
Owner's Manual. message appears.

If this occurs, we recommend that you replace the windshield with a genuine Honda replacement windshield. Making even minor repairs within the camera’s field of vision or installing an aftermarket replacement windshield may also cause the system to operate abnormally.

    5. We recommend you check the engine coolant level every time you refuel. Check the reserve tank first. If it is completely empty, also check the coolant level in the radiator. If Honda antifreeze/coolant is not available, you may use another major brand non-silicate coolant as a temporary replacement. Check that it is a high quality coolant recommended for aluminum engines.

    Brake Fluid: Use Honda Heavy Duty Brake Fluid DOT 3. If the specified brake fluid is not available, you should use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid from a sealed container as a temporary replacement.

    Maintaining Genuine Leather: Vacuum dirt and dust from the leather frequently. Pay close attention to the pleats and seams. Clean the leather with a soft cloth dampened with a 90% water and 10% neutral soap solution. Then buff it with a clean, dry cloth.
