Symptom

Probable Cause
1. Foreign matter blocking
rotors
2. Line strainer blocked
3. Damaged rotors
4. Meter connections over-
tightened
5. Fluid is too viscous
1. Strainer is partially
blocked
2. Fluid is too viscous
1. Fluid flowrate is too high
or too low
2. Fluid is too viscous
3. Excess wear caused by
incorrect installation
1. Bevel gear is loose on
on shaft
2. Rotor drive gear is
damaged
3. Transmission gears
damaged
4. Register gears damaged
1. Seal worn or damaged
on the coverplate
Corrective Action
Dismantle meter, clean rotors. Strainer must
be fitted in-line.
Clean strainer.
Replace rotors. Strainer must be fitted in-line.
Re-adjust connections.
See specifications for maximum viscosity.
Clean strainer.
See specifications for maximum viscosity.
See specifications for minimum and maximum
flowrates.
Bleed air from system.
Check meter body and rotors. Replace as
required. Refer to installation instructions.
Tighten grub screws.
Replace rotor.
Replace gears.
Replace register assembly.
Replace seal. Check seal compatibility with
fluid.
