Lock Screen

Choose a method for unlocking
your screen. Different Screen
Locks have different levels of
security and options.
Set a Screen Lock
1. From a Home screen, tap
> My device tab.
2. Tap Lock Screen
3. Tap Screen lock to select a screen lock and
level of security:
Swipe: Swipe the screen to unlock it. This
option provides no security.
Face unlock: Look at your phone to unlock it.
Face and voice: Look at your phone and
speak to unlock.
Pattern: A screen unlock pattern is a tap
gesture you create and use to unlock your
device. This option provides medium security.
PIN: Select a PIN to use for unlocking the
screen. This option provides medium to high
security.
Password: Create a password for unlocking
the screen. This option provides high security.
None: Never use a Lock screen.

Screen Lock Options
Depending on the screen lock type, the following
options display:
Multiple widgets: Display multiple widgets on
your lock screen. Appears as an options after
a lock mode is enabled. (Swipe only.)
Lock screen widgets: Locks the widgets that
are displayed on your home screens.
Make pattern visible: Display the pattern as
your draw it. (Pattern only.)
Improve facial recognition: Used to improve
your device's face matching capability. (Face
and Face and Voice only.)
Presence check: Requires that you blink
when using the Face unlock feature. This will
increase the security of the feature. (Face and
Face and Voice only.)
Lock automatically: Set a time-out for lock
screen. (Not Swipe.)
Lock instantly with power key: Lock the
screen by pressing the Power/Lock key. (Not
Swipe.)
Shortcuts: Sets shortcuts to appear at the
bottom of the Lock screen. (Swipe only.)
Unlock effect: Set the visual effect used when
unlocking the screen. (Swipe only.)
Help text: Shows help information on the Lock
screen. (Swipe only.)
Wake up in lock screen: Requires that you
say a command to wake-up your phone.
(Swipe only.)
Set wake-up command: Designates your
wake-up commands. (Swipe only.)
