8. Dynamic Range Compression

By compressing the range of the playback level (the dynamic
range), it is possible to maintain the impact of audio even at low
volumes.
This function only works with Dolby Digital encoded material.
[Default: OFF]

sure to press [0].
≥ After the initial settings have been
changed and entered, the player
returns to the start of the disc and
begins playback.
If "Pan & Scan" or "Letterbox" is
already set in the software, this
setting is ignored.
We recommend that you select the initial
setting when you use this player in the
system configurations (
page 68), and
adjust the volume control on the display
unit connected to this unit. See the display
unit operating manual for details.
When "Minimum" or "Standard" is
selected,
DRC
lights on the display.
When
it
is
difficult
to
hear
comparatively quiet sounds (such as
movie dialogue), setting "Minimum"
will make those sounds easier to hear.
