4.7.6 Faint or Blurred Print
Step
1 Is the toner low?
2 Is the recording paper moistened?

Is the Transfer charger dirty?

Is the lens of the LSU dirty?

Is the machine placed on a slanted sur-
face?
6 Are the terminals on the both sides of the
paper guide dirty?

When no problem is found in the steps
above, the Drum unit, the Developer as-
sembly or PBA's may be defective.
4.7.7 Black Marks
Step
1 Is the machine being used in a low humid-
ity environment (less than 30%)?
2 Is the light (sunlight, etc.) coming in an
opening of the machine?

Is the charger wire in the Drum unit dirty?
4 Is the Fuser cleaner dirty or are there any
foreign obstacles stuck to the Fuser
cleaner?
5 Are the paper transport mechanism and/
or feed rollers (Pickup roller, Paper feed
roller or Exit roller) dirty?
6 Is the Fuser dirty?
7 Is the bottom of the Developer assembly
with Drum unit dirty?
8 When no problem is found in the steps
above, the Drum unit, the LSU or the
PBA's them selves may be defective.

Check points
Replace the Toner cartridge.
Replace the recording paper and advise
the customer of correct recording paper
storage.
Clean the Transfer charger.
Clean the lens.
Place the machine on a flat surface.
Clean the terminals using a dry cloth.
Replace in the order of: Drum unit, De-
veloper assembly, HVPS, Main PBA.
Move the machine to a desirable environ-
ment.
Move the machine to another place or use
a curtain to shut out the light.
Clean the charger wire using a Charger
cleaner.
Replace the Fuser cleaner.
Clean the paper transport section and roll-
ers.
Clean or replace the Fuser.
Clean the bottom of the Developer assem-
bly with Drum unit. (Be careful not to touch
the drum surface.)
Replace in the order of: Drum unit, LSU,
HVPS, Main PBA.
