—Folding down rear seats
13T005
Raise the head restraints a little. Pull
up the rear seatback angle adjusting
lever and fold the seatbacks down. The
lowered head restraints will prevent the
seatback from being down completely.
Each seatback can be folded separately.
This will enlarge the luggage compartment
as far as the seatbacks. See "Cargo and
luggage" on page 157 for precautions
when loading luggage.
CAUTION
When only rear left seat is folded
down, rear seat alone can be used.
Never sit on the center seat because
the rear center seat belt cannot be
fastened correctly when the rear left
seat is folded down.
When returning the seatback to the
upright position, observe the follow-
ing precautions in order to prevent
personal injury in a collision or sud-
den stop:
D
Make sure the seatback is securely
locked by pushing forward and rear-
ward on the top of the seatback.
Failure to do so will prevent the
seat belt from operating properly.
D
Make sure the seat belts are not
twisted or caught in the seatback
and are arranged in
the proper
position and are ready to use.
