Stopping the engine

Vehicles with a Multidrive
Stop the vehicle.
STEP 1
Shift the shift lever to P.
STEP 2
Set the parking brake. (P. 193)
STEP 3
Release the brake pedal.
STEP 4
Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch.
STEP 5
Check that the smart entry & start system indicator light
STEP 6
(green) is off.
Vehicles with a multi-mode manual transmission
Stop the vehicle.
STEP 1
Shift the shift lever to E, M or R.
STEP 2
Set the parking brake. (P. 193)
STEP 3
Release the brake pedal.
STEP 4
Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch.
STEP 5
Check that the smart entry & start system indicator light
STEP 6
(green) is off.
Vehicles with a manual transmission
While depressing the clutch pedal, stop the vehicle.
STEP 1
Shift the shift lever to N.
STEP 2
Set the parking brake. (P. 193)
STEP 3
Release the clutch pedal.
STEP 4
Press the "ENGINE START STOP" switch.
STEP 5
Check that the smart entry & start system indicator light
STEP 6
(green) is off.
