Changing Network Settings From the Web Page
Connecting Your Machine to
Authentication Switch
Make sure that the machine is turned off.

Connect an Ethernet cable to the

network interface port.
Connect the Ethernet cable to the
3
authentication port of an authentication
switch.
Hold down the power switch for about a
4
second to turn on the power.
Set up the machine.

Configuring LDAP Server

Reference
For details on the LDAP server and encryption setting,
refer to your network administrator.
Access the machine's web page and log

in as the administrator.
Select [Admin Setup].

Select [Network Manager]>[LDAP

Server Setting].
Enter the domain name or IP address of
4
the LDAP server in [LDAP Server].
Enter the port number of the LDAP
5
server in [Port Number].
Specify a value of time-out to wait for
6
the search results in [Timeout].
Specify a value for the maximum number
7
of entries into the search results in
[Max. Entries].
Specify a BaseDN to access the LDAP
8
server in [DN Name].
Enter attribute names to be searched for
9
as the user name in [User Name].
Be sure to specify a value for [Name 1].
Enter an e-mail address to be searched
10
for in [Mail Address].
If necessary, specify a search condition
11
in [Additional Filters].
Select the authentication method you
12
want in [Method].
Note
When you select [Anonymous] or [Simple], user
authentication using LDAP fails. You need to select
[Digest-MD5] or [Secure Protocol] if you configure
the LDAP server for user authentication.
Memo
When you select [Digest-MD5], you need to
configure the DNS server setting.
When you select [Secure Protocol], you need to
configure the DNS server and the secure protocol
server settings.
If you do not select [Anonymous] in

step 12, specify the user ID and
password to log in to the LDAP server.
Select the encryption method in
14
[Encryption].
Click [Send].

The network card reboots to enable the new
settings.

Configuring Secure Protocols

Authentication using the Kerberos server is
available when you access the LDAP server. In
order to use the secure protocol, be sure to
complete the SNTP and DNS server settings.
Access the machine's web page and log

in as the administrator.
Select [Admin Setup].

Select [Network Manager]>[Secure

Protocol Server Setting].
Enter a realm name in [Domain Name].
4
Click [Send].
5
The network card reboots to enable the new
settings.
