RAS Channel
An unreliable channel used to convey the Registration, Admissions, and Status messages
and bandwidth changes between two H.323 entities.
Reliable Transmission
Connection-oriented data transmission that guarantees sequenced, error-free, flow-
controlled transmission of messages to the receiver.
Real-Time Protocol/Real-Time Control Protocol (RTP/RTCP)
IETF specifications for audio and video signal management. Allows applications to
synchronise and spool audio and video information.
Remote maintenance
One of the service functions supported by the KX-TDA0480. The KX-TDA0480 can be
maintained remotely over a network connection. The Maintenance Console Software
supports remote maintenance functions.
Routed Call
Gives call status control of Gatekeeper priority.Path control signal (Q.931) is also sent to
the calling terminal via the Gatekeeper. Although there will be more Gatekeeper load, logs
can be collected accurately for accounting purposes, etc., since the communication status
can be grasped completely.
Signal method
Encoding method of H.245 when transferring DTMF signals on an IP network. The purpose
of this method is to transfer DTMP signals. The transmission time of DTMF signals can be
specified on the receiving side (not available on the KX-TDA0480). For the KX-TDA0480,
the method is selected when the communicating party is H.245 V3 or later.
Static address conversion
Address conversion method that assigns a fixed global address when connecting a device
within the space of a private address to the Internet.
System function
System function is a category of the service functions supported by the KX-TDA0480. This
category separates various functions that compose an internet/intranet telephony network
from a system point of view. This category includes functions such as network building
functions, functions to accommodate various kinds of terminals, and functions needed to
monitor the connection lines.
TCP
Transmission Control Protocol. A reliable networking layer on top of IP.
