You can write, edit, read, delete or forward text messages from any registered handset that has SMS functionality. When several handsets are in use at any one time, only one handset can access the SMS function.

    SMS (Text Messages) SMS notification You are expecting an important call but you have to go out. You can have a notification sent to any device with SMS functionality, e.g. your mobile phone, by SMS. You must first store the destination number in your phone which is at home (the default is Off). Precondition: The caller's number was identified when a call was missed (CLI).

    SMS (Text Messages) to a PABX Text messages You can only receive a text message when the Calling Line Identification is for- warded to the extension of the PABX (CLIP). The CLIP of the number of the SMS centre is evaluated in the Gigaset (telephone). If your phone is connected to a PABX, you may have to prefix the number of the SMS centre with an access code (this depends on your PABX).

    Using the answering machine in the C 250 Base Using the answering machine in the C 250 Base The Gigaset C 250 has a built-in answering machine that records calls provided it is acti- vated (default setting). It can be operated: from the base, from the handset (with voice prompts if available), from the remote control (with voice prompts if available).
