Problem
Refrigerator has odor
Moisture forms on
outside of refrigerator
Moisture collects inside
Interior light does not work No power at outlet.
Door not closing properly
or only partially closing
Hot air from bottom
of refrigerator

on bottom of freezer

Possible Causes
Foods transmitting
odor to refrigerator.
Spoiled food.
Interior needs cleaning.
Defrost water drainage
system needs cleaning.
Not unusual during
periods of high humidity.
Too frequent or too
long door openings.
In humid weather, air
carries moisture into
refrigerator when doors
are opened.
Light bulb burned out.
Door gasket on hinge side
sticking or folding over.
The doors are designed
to stay open partway for
ease of loading food.
Normal air flow cooling
motor. In the refrigeration
process, it is normal that
heat be expelled in the
area under the refrigerator.
Some floor coverings will
discolor at these normal
and safe temperatures.
Drain in the bottom of
the freezer clogged.
Cubes jammed in chute.
What To Do
Foods with strong odors
should be tightly wrapped.
Keep an open box of baking
soda in the refrigerator;
replace every three months.

Wipe surface dry.
Check the house
fuse/circuit breaker
box and replace fuse or
reset the breaker.

Apply petroleum jelly on
face of gasket.
Your floor covering
supplier should be
consulted if you object to
this discoloration.
Use a glass no taller than 6 .
