• Thi s unit is des igned t o be dust and moisture- res istant, but is
not waterp roof or spl as h-proof. When yo u use th e unit in rainy
co nditi ons, do not let th e unit get wet .
• Befo re use, make sure th at th e f irm wa re of th e ca mera is
upd ated to th e lates t ve rsion.
• Be careful not to subject thi s unit to mechanica l shoc k w hil e
attac hin g and using it.
• Avo id chang in g th e le ns in du sty or dirty locati ons.
• Do not touch th e lens co ntact s. Any dirt on th e lens co ntact s
may interfere w ith th e se ndin g and rece iving of signals betwee n
th e lens and th e ca m era, resulting in operati onal malfuncti on.
• Avo id pu shin g th e lens release latch by accident to prevent th e
lens from fa llin g off.
• When usin g a lens w ith a trip od mount, att ac h th e tri pod mount
of th e lens, not of th e ca mera, to th e trip od hea d.
• Do not att ac h anythin g (teleconve rter etc.) betwee n thi s unit
and th e lens.
• Dependin g on yo ur lens, th e actu al di stance may differ slightly
from th e di stance sca le of th e lens.
• When shootin g w ith thi s unit, th e minimum foca l di stance may
increase.
• When usin g a lens w ith a focus mode switch (for switchin g
betwee n AF (Auto Focus) and MF (Manual Focu s)), th at switch
on th e lens has pri ority.
• Whil e thi s unit is used, th e AF illuminator of th e ca mera does
not emit li ght.
• When ca rry in g thi s unit, attach th e body ca p and rea r lens cap
and put it in th e case .
• When ca rry in g th e ca mera w ith th e lens attached, hold both th e
ca mera and lens.
• When thi s unit is not attached to th e ca mera, keep in mind th at
th e unit may roll away.
• Befo re storin g thi s unit, be sure to attach th e body ca p and rea r
lens cap to th e unit.
• To clea n th e unit, use a soft cloth and lightly w ipe off any dirt.
Neve r use clea ners th at co ntain orga nic solve nts, such as paint
thinn ers or benzene.
Condensation
If yo u brin g thi s unit d irectl y f ro m a co ld pl ace to a wa rm place,
cond ensa ti on may fo rm on it. To avo id thi s, first pl ace thi s unit
in a pl asti c bag or so m ethin g simil ar and th en brin g it to th e
wa rm place. When th e air t emperature inside th e bag reaches th e
surroundin g temperature, take thi s unit out.

Attaching the Mount Adaptor
• Befo re attaching thi s unit to th e ca mera, turn off th e power to
th e ca mera.
• When attaching thi s unit to th e ca mera, turn th e unit until it
clicks.
