When the 3:2 pull down feature is enabled (from the user menu):
1. The TV examines the incoming video to determine if the signal is in the 3:2 pull
down telecine format.
2. The microprocessor then reorganizes the images so that two identical pictures
are recombined to produce a single clear high-resolution picture. Identical
pictures produce no blur.
Feature – Display format = 720p native resolution
This TV accepts all the new ATSC video standards. For any format that is input, the TV
converts the signal to a digital 720p resolution before presenting it on the screen.
The 720p format is of a higher resolution than the 1080i format, even though the latter
has a larger number. This is because the 1080i-interlaced picture only displays ½ the
number of lines per picture (two pictures complete an interleaved image / frame).
Therefore, the 1080i picture presents a 540-line picture at one time while the 720p
signal presents a 720-line picture.
Feature – HDMI ™
HDMI is a single A/V interface that connects two AV units and transfers digital, non-
compressed, high-definition video and audio data. Unlike DVI, HDMI allows
simultaneous transfer of multiple channels of audio, making it ideal as a high-definition
digital interface for relaying HD broadcasts in a single multi-wire HDMI cable. Figure 3
shows the difference between the DVI video plug and the smaller HDMI A/V plug.
