To see the capacity of the hard disk drive, use the CHKDSK command. See your
OS documentation for details on using CHKDSK.
NOTE: Formats for Enhanced IDE and Standard IDE are different. There-
fore, if you change the setting, you will need to reformat the hard disk drive
for the appropriate setting.

Password
Allows you to set or reset the user password for power on and instant security.
For details on setting the user password, refer to your computer's User's Manual.

I/O ports
Controls settings for serial and parallel ports and the sound system.
(a)
Serial Port
This option allows you to set the COM level (COM1 or COM2) for the
serial port and PC card slot. The serial port interrupt request level (IRQ)
and I/O port base address for each COM level is shown below:
NOTE: Do not assign the same interrupt request level and I/O address
to the serial port and PC card.
(b)
Parallel Port
Sets the address for the parallel port. The options are:

Registered
The user password has been registered.
Not registered
The user password has not been registered.

Interrupt level

Not used
LPT1 (378H)
Sets the address to 378H. (Default)
LPT2 (278H)
Sets the address to 278H.
LPT3 (3BCH)
Sets the address to 3BCH.
