Problems when reading the TPMS sensor – troubleshooting instructions
1) The vehicle does not have TPMS sensors, even if there is a metal valve. For
example, Schrader valves may look the same as TPMS valves.
Check whether TPMS sensors exist on the vehicle.
Use the TPA 300 to check the type of TPMS (direct or indirect) fitted
on the vehicle. Note: Indirect
TPMS function without sensors mounted in the tire.
If the vehicle was not originally equipped with TPMS sensors, the
TPA 300 displays "Indirect TPMS".
2) The TPMS sensor or control unit may be damaged or defective.
Check all these elements individually to eliminate the possible problem.
3) The TPMS sensor responds only to a certain frequency.
Check the communication frequency of the vehicle's TPMS sensors. This
is generally 433 MHz for Europe and 315 MHz for the United States and
Japan. Make sure that it is not a vehicle imported from another country
that operates on a different frequency.
