• Selectors 2 and 3: Auto capping start time
If data transfer from the PC stops midway through printing for some reason in the
PC, the head/carriage unit automatically returns to the home position (head
capping position) after the specified auto capping start time (default: 30 seconds)
to prevent the head surface from drying up. At the restart of printing after the auto
capping operation, print image unevenness could occur. To avoid it, change the
auto capping start time with these selectors.
• Selector 4: Purge more powerful than normal purge
Setting this selector to "1" automatically selects a purge more powerful than the
normal purge from the first if the purge is initiated immediately after printing.
• Selectors 5 and 6: Measure for black streaks at trailing edge of recording paper
When the trailing edge of the recording paper goes through the paper feed roller,
black streaks may appear on the printed paper in the case of high-density printing,
because the paper is stretched around the paper ejection roller.
While the feed amount is corrected based on printing density, the level of stretch
differs by material of the recording paper. Therefore, black streaks at the trailing
edge of the paper should be improved by switching the feed correction value for
the paper.
• Selectors 7 and 8: Automatic purging interval programmed for matching the ambient
temperature
The "automatic purging interval programmed for matching the ambient
temperature" is enabled by default. If the machine is set in an excessively hot or
cold place, therefore, the automatic purging interval becomes short, resulting in
increased ink waste.
Disabling this interval enables the one programmed for the ordinary temperature.
In the first printing after a long no-print period, however, the print quality may lower.
