Note
Host systems are specified by their IP addresses or network
number. If the network contains subnets, an address mask may be
used to identify whether the IP address designates an individual
host system or a group of host systems.
Examples. See the table of sample entries below:

To add an entry into the access control list, use the IP Address and
Mask fields to specify a host, and click (check) the Save checkbox
for that entry. Then click Apply.
To delete an entry from the list, clear the Save checkbox for that
entry. Then click Apply.
To clear the entire access control list, clear all Save checkboxes,
and click Apply.

Use caution when using this feature. You may lose
your ability to communicate with the HP Jetdirect
print server if your system is not properly specified
in the list, or access through HTTP is disabled.
For use of the host access list as a security feature,
see Chapter 7.
By default, hosts with HTTP connections (for
example, through the embedded Web server or IPP
-- the Internet Printing Protocol) are allowed access
to the print server regardless of access control list
entries. To disable access by HTTP hosts, clear the
checkbox at the bottom of the list.
Mask Description
255.0.0.0 Allow all hosts with network number 192.
255.1.0.0 Allow all hosts on network 192, subnet 1.
Allow the host with IP address 192.168.1.2.
The mask 255.255.255.255 is assumed and is
not required.
