Collaboration with Adobe LiveCycle Rights
Management ES
PDF file protected by Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES can be printed only when all
the following conditions are satisfied.
MFP and server (hereinafter, policy server) can be communicated.
• Valid user name and password are entered.
• Within the period of document validity
• User name authority for the document is within the period of validity.
• Entered user name is added the "printable" authority for the document. (When authority
is "not printable" and "printing with low resolution" is enabled, an error occurs, so printing
cannot be made.)
• Encryption algorism is AES 128 bits. (When encryption algorism is AES 256 bits or
encryption cannot be made, an error occurs, so printing cannot be made.)
If any of the foregoing conditions are not satisfied, PDF file cannot be printed. In this case,
the error message is displayed on the Control Panel and then operation ends. Enterable
character string length is 128-character long (1 byte) for the user name and 24-character long
(1 byte) for the password at the maximum. (However, the user name which can be generated
by Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management is 50-character long.)
When saving to Inbox, authentication is made at storage.
When printing the document saved in Inbox, authentication by the policy server is not
performed.
In the detail settings of the Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management document, "Dynamic
watermark" is not supported. (Image is printed without transparent image.) In the detail
settings of the Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management document, when printing the text of
document encrypted using "Encryption of the attached files.", entering the user name and
password is not necessary. Supported Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management versions are
8.0,8.2 and 9.
