5.8.2 External contact specifications

Type C is the standard for external contact I/O. Users can change to Type A or Type B at the time of purchase. (This
cannot be changed after purchasing the equipment.)

Activated when the OS is shutdown (standby or the main power is off) or when
power is not supplied to the equipment.
Activated when the OS, application, device driver, or similar cannot run properly
due to an abnormally high system load or crash.
Activated when a timeout is detected by the watchdog timer. A timeout is also
detected when the OS is shutdown (standby or the main power is off) or when power
is not supplied to the equipment.
This is a maintenance request signal. This contact is activated when the temperature,
the fan status, or one side of the mirrored disks (B model only) is abnormal.
These are general-purpose contact output signals. A user can assign a task to each of
the contacts GENDO0 through GENDO2.
This is a shutdown request signal or a general-purpose input signal. When this
contact is closed, the OS will be shutdown. The user can select which signal to use.
This is a reset request signal. When this contact is closed, the equipment is hard-
reset.
These are general-purpose input signals. A user can assign a task to each one of the
contacts GENDI0 and GENDI1.
This is a general-purpose input signal.
A user can assign a task to contact GENDI2. This input can also be used for the
remote power-on function.
