If the coffee capsule is pierced more than once, the upper needle can get

Blockage of passageways - Important
When the brewer is operated properly, it does not get blocked. If the same coffee cap-
sule is used more than once it may create blockage. To prevent passageway blockage
please use the coffee capsule once only. Open the lid a few seconds after the last drop
has run out. Do not open the lid prematurely. The coffee cartridge and piercing needle
must be maintained clean and without dirt. The container below the cartridge must be
periodically cleaned, as it accumulates dried up coffee.
Your brewer has two capsule piercing needles. One on top, called the inlet needle and
one at the bottom, called the outlet needle. It also has a long passageway from the
brewer to the exit nozzle. If blockage occurs in the exit nozzle, use an unfolded paper
clip to clean it out. To maintain proper operation, make sure both needles and the exit
nozzle are kept clean.
The lower needle is not of tubular construction and does not go all the way through.
It has a U-shaped configuration with a slot on its side. This proprietary design makes
clogging up the needle more difficult
If the lower needle is blocked, wash the cartridge under running water and use an un-
folded paper clip to clean inside of the needle. It is not open all the way through, and it
has a sealed end. The running water will help wash out the dislodged grounds.
Hot water runs into the coffee capsule through the slot in the needle and then into the
capsule housing using same slot. This way blockages are minimized and the coffee
runs out of the machine at a lower temperature. During the brew process the water is
very hot.
If the upper inlet nozzle gets blocked, use a paper clip to clean it. The needle has 3
openings around the central spike. Check if the silicone seal on the upper piercing nee-
dle is properly installed.
Dispense a few cups of water to rinse well. To dispense water only, you will need to
open and close lid without a coffee capsule inside. This sends a signal via the sensor
to the control board. Never leave the needle blocked for more than 5 minutes. The cof-
fee grinds dry quickly, which can make it much more difficult to remove.
