Starter
Dismantling
Remove the 8 screws and lift off the starter
from the engine body.

Offl oad the spring tension.
Remove the screw and the washer.
Carefully remove the drive disc for the pres-
sure equalisation spring.

Lift off the pressure equalisation spring.
Carefully lift off the starter pulley so that the
recoil spring does not fl y off its position in
the starter pulley.
Dismantling
Starter, cylinder cover and half of the cover
over the muffl er is one unit. Remove all 8
screws including those holding the guard
screen over the muffl er.
Offl oad the spring tension.
Lift up the starter cord on the starter pulley
and allow it to rotate clockwise. Slow the
rotation with your thumb.
Remove the screw and the washer.
Carefully remove the drive disc for the pres-
sure equalisation spring.
Lift off the pressure equalisation spring.
Carefully lift off the starter pulley so that the
recoil spring does not fl y off its position in
the starter pulley.

WARNING!
Wear protective glasses.
The return spring lies tensioned
in the starter and can fl y out and
cause personal injury with careless
handling.
