The hardware system of HUAWEI ETS2000 series wireless FWTs is composed of
two boards and peripherals like keypad/LCD. The two boards are FWT central
processing unit (TCPU board) and interface processing unit (PIPU board). The
hardware structure of the wireless FWT is shown in Figure 1-1.
The TCPU board is the core unit of the FWT. It includes Transceiver Unit of the
radio frequency, central processing unit, and on-board power generator and
monitor.
The PIPU and the TCPU are connected via the 72 PIN pad (72 pads are located at
four frames of the TCPU. They are welded on the interface board in the castellation
form). The PIPU functions to convert the external power into the power needed by
the system, manage the charging/discharging of the battery, and process voice
signals. Also, it acts as a connecting bridge between the TCPU and keypad and
LCD.
