INTRODUCTION LDV-S802, High-tech 4ch standalone Digital Video Recorder introduced by LG with the leading video record- ing technologies with many years experience and know-how, can record high quality data of the maximum of 120fps and allows the user to monitor and control local DVRs in a remote site via LAN connection.

HDD INSTALLATION The user can install the HDD on the product. But, since there are many parts and elements inside the product that can cause electric shock, troubles, faults on the product and etc. Further inappropriate HDD installation may generate HDD detection problem or not operate properly, Therefore it is advised to have the initial HDD or additional HDD installation work done by a well experienced engineer from the agent where the product was purchased.

HOW TO USE REMOTE CONTROLLER By using this easy to carry remote controller, user can use all the functions of LDV-S802 and can separately control multiple numbers of DVRs installed in the same place. a ID button By assigning DVR ID, it allows the user to control multiple DVRs with one remote controller.
Remote controller ID setup 1. Confirm system ID (Default set as “01”). How to confirm system ID: Press SET UP button → [SYSTEM] → [INFORMATION] → [REMORE ID] 2. Assign separate ID in order to control multiple systems (Max. 99). 3.
HOW TO USE DIRECTION KEYS To optimize the number of buttons and to maximize stylish design, the development was focused on multi functional button use. Therefore most of buttons have more than one functionbut it is still very simple to use.
HOW TO USE PC MOUSE For those users who are accustomed to the PC mouse more than buttons, the system provides PC mouse connection port to control the system. Caution Connect mouse before the system power is turned on or reboot the system after connecting the mouse to the system.
OSD DISPLAY Explanation for the Booting Display When the system is turned on, it will show LDV-S802 booting screen together with relevant information. System information and HDD information will be displayed followed by network information on the screen. a Screen displays Model, Version and Video mode information.
System power ON indicator The display lamp does not blink as soon as the power is turned on. Circle power indicator. Screen OSD On screen icons include Recording status, Time, Camera name and etc. a Indicate camera name. b Turns red when the channel is being recorded (No icon will be displayed when the channel is not being recorded).
How to open the setup menu The menu can be configured by using the front button or the mouse. Because it sets up the overall setting of the system, you should be familiar with it. Notes • How to open the menu with the front button. There is the “SET UP”...
System information a REMOTE ID LDV-S802 supports the ID remote controller. One remote controller can control multi DVR system (Max 99). b MOUSE RESOLUTION It displays the sensitivity of mouse movement. It can be adjusted to the user conveniences (default: 1).
Time / Date a Time It sets up the time and displays it from the front in the format of, hour: minute: second. b Date It sets the date and displays it from the front in the format of, year : month: day. c Date format Since the time display could be different by each country, select the format you want.

Button Lock The button lock asks the password every time when you control or, modify the system. • Select ON: Enable button lock. • Select OFF: Disable button lock.
Display The display menu can control the display related items such as displaying OSD, picture split etc. Set it up properly according to the needs of the user. OSD (On Screen Display) DISPLAY Setup whether to display the OSD. TIME Setup whether to display the time.

Split mode The factory default of channel split is quad. If you press the SPLIT button, the picture shows up as a quad but, it can be changed to the other asymmetric split. If the user needs careful monitoring, this can be used effec- tively.
Auto Sequence Auto sequencing is the sequential screen display for the effective monitoring. Press the SEQ button to use. a AUTO LOSS SKIP It is to set up to skip the channel when there is the no camera input. b SEQUENCE MODE It is to set up whether to show the channel as a sequence mode.
SPOT The SPOT function enables to display a specific or, the entire channel in sequence on a separate monitor. It is possible to set the channel hang on time as well. By using two different monitors, one for the live and the other as a SPOT, specific or the full channel can be displayed in sequence.
But, it is possible if there is a server which is informed of the address. LDV-S802 supports dynamic IP as well by the separate server management. • Fixed IP : It has a specific and unique IP address in the world to connect the internet.
LDV-S802, operates as a dedicated DHCP server. Notes • The dynamic IP user selects the DHCP “ON” and connects to the following site http://www.lg-security- s800.com and logs -in for the remote monitoring.(How to register membership to use is explained on the above site).
> NETWORK PASSWORD This is the password setup to check the user level when connecting the network by client software or web browser. (the authority level is different from that of the user) ADMIN: System access to control all the functions including Setup, Search, Control and etc. USER 1~3: Only allows monitoring (no access to Setup or control and etc.).
> NOTIFICATION It is an E-mail notice function when events happen (Alarm, Sensor, Motion detection, video loss, Power Off or Password change). It is a very convenient function to notify the system information even if the user is not in the local area. E-MAIL SETUP: Email information setup.
[2] E-MAIL NOTIFICATION a ALARM ON Setup the email notification On/Off and time. The time setup is for the interval of sending the e-mail - ON: Enable email notification. - OFF: Disable email notification. - Time configuration: Setup the time for sending notification in every 10mins/30mins/1hr/12hrs/1day. Note If the user selects to enable the E-mail notice “ON”...
> MAC ADDR An address is necessary for computers to identify one after another on the network. Like we exchange letters by writing sender’s and receiver’s address on envelope, Mac address is used as same way as the postal address for network communication. And this will enable computers to exchange information on net- work.
Therefore, the system should have the image before the incident happen as an evidence. - LDV-S802 has the recorded video image before 5seconds but, it depends on the resolution and frame rate.
RECORD SCHEDULE It sets up the reserved recording by day or time. a Select the day of week. b Select the start and end time of each channel to be recorded as per each different event. c NEXT It moves to next page. d PRE It moves to the previous page.
CAMERA TITLE This is the setup for camera name. If you click the channel from the picture A, the virtual keyboard will be dis- played to enter the name as per the picture B. Use the direction key to enter the name. - To save: Select “ENTER”...
VIDEO ADJUST There are many different kinds of cameras and the image varies such as bright or dark. To see the most desirable camera images, you can setup the color configuration here. To compensate the color, select the channel as per the picture A. The control window is displayed on the image B of the currently selected channel to adjust the color.
The PTZ camera can be controlled by this system without any extra equipment. RS-485 communication is used for PTZ camera control and ID is given for parallel connection. It is easy to set up this system and control the PTZ by seeing its movement through the monitor. >...

EVENT ‘EVENT’ menu sets alarm, sensor and motion, which is the advanced feature not part of the general CCTV features. When setting the recording by event, the mass storage device may not be necessary. If the user uses this feature well, the DVR feature can be also maximized with the low capacity storage device only. ALARM / SENSOR SETUP Sensor and Alarm/Sensor can be set by pressing SET UP button and then moving to EVENT. > ALARM MODE Select the event type by using the direction keys to set the signal transmission to alarm output. OFF: Alarm Out Off.
> EVENT RECORD Set whether to record or not and the recording time when an event occurs. OFF: No record on event. 1sec - 30mins: The user can select the recording time from 1sec to 30mins by the direction key. Note EVENT RECORD If it is set to OFF, it doesn't record anything.
Motion Detection This is the representative function of the DVR system. It records for a specific time only when it detects the motion. Also, the sensitivity can be selected, so it can record the motion from the sensitive motion to the large movements through control.
How to search Different from the general time of VCR, it can record longer and search with the desired condition, which enables easy image search without spending all-day-long. It can search using various methods such as desired time, motion and recording via sensor. Because it is frequently used, it is better for you to get familiar with it.
How to control the search speed The icon changes according to the searching speed. - x 1 : B - x 2 : B > - x 4 : B >> - x 8 : B >>> - x 16 : B >>>> The recorded images that matches the selected date and time are displayed as shown at the above.
EVENT Search It searches by a certain event (motion, sensor, etc.), which is the most commonly used one in the field. If you want to search for an image, it can make the search faster rather than doing it by date or time. The event search is possible based on the date and kind of events.
AUDIO How to use the audio buttons Select the channel to listen to and press the “AUDIO” button on the front panel. Notes It is the same either for Live or Search. How to listen to the audio channel When it shows the AUDIO control box, press the channel to listen to for both Live and Search. - OFF: No Audio.
EMERGENCY Emergency button is for the emergency recording as it is described. If an intruder comes in, but the DVR is under scheduled recording which may not be recorded at that time, press the “EMERGENCY” button for the immediate recording regardless of the record setting. REMOTE SOFTWARE External Network Internet Internet DDNS server Internal Network < System network composition > It externally monitors the video or control setting via internet. Methods for access in externally include using remote software and access on the web browser. As shown at the above system network composition diagram, when it connects to the system via internet, the system searches for the DDNS SERVER and the SERVER memorizes the information of the local DVR.
Remote software installation and PC requirement Install remote software using provided program CD. You are requested to install the software (LDV-S802.EXE) which is exclusively for PC. PC Requirements Recommended PC Requirements • CPU : Pentium IV 1.2GHz or higher. • CPU : Pentium IV 2GHz or higher.
How to use remote software When the installation is completed, click LG logo icon on Windows desktop screen to execute the remote soft- ware. > Connection Click icon, “LDV-S802 Client” on Windows background screen. Login icon: When clicking to connect, “LOGIN” window is open.

[5] VIDEO ADJUST setup There are various types of cameras and the image also has many dark or light points. This function compensates the spots to create optimized image through color adjustment by channel. a Hue : Control the entire color by green or red channel. b Sat : Display the saturation of a color.

[6] HARD DISK setup You can remotely change whether to record in the storage device and the record sequence. a Overwrite: Set to overwrite the storage device. b Record HDD: If two hard disks are installed, you can change the record sequence. HDD1 : Record the HDD1 only even if there are two HDDs (HDD1, HDD2).
