4.1 Smart Media Programming

The smart media is the flash memory of the NAND type and should be programmed with
the program and the database before mounting it on the system. This part describes the
procedures to install the smart media program and the methods to execute it according to
the functions.
4.1.1 Installation
This part describes the method to install the smart media program.
4.1.1.1 Preparation
Prepare the following items to install the smart media program.
Smart media writing board(SEC CODE: KP500DBSMW/EUS)
Desktop PC(486 or more)
Multimedia card(SMC, Smartmedia Memory Card)
Software(SM_NEW.EXE: DOS mode execution, provided by Samsung Electronics)
