CuttingDeckRemoval
Toremovethe cutting deck,proceedas follows:
1. Place the PTO (BladeEngage) leverinthe disengaged (OFF) p ositionand
engage the parkingbrake.
2. Lowerthe deckbymovingthe decklift leverinto the bottomnotchonthe
rightfender.
3. Remove t he self-tapping screw(A)thatsecures the belt-keeper r odfrom
around the tractor'sPTO pulley,thenremove the belt keeperrod(B).See
Figure 1S.
Note:Makeamentalnotewhat holethe otherendof the belt-keeper r odis
insertedin forreinstallation purposes.
4. Remove t he belt (C)from around the tractor'sPTO pulley.SeeFigure 15.
Avoidpinching injuries. Neverplaceyourfingers on the idler spring or
betweenthe belt anda pulley while removing the belt.

5. Looking at the cuttingdeckfromthe left sideof thetractor,locatethe bow-
tie pinthatsecures the decksupportrodon the rearleft sideof the deck.See
Figure 16.Remove t he bow-tiepinthat secures thedecksupportrod,and
carefully remove the decksupportfromthe decklift arm.
6. Repeat t he above stepsonthe tractor'sright side.
NOTE: Thebow-tieclipsshouldbe re-installed from thetop down.
7. Movethe decklift leverintothe top notchon the rightfenderto raisethe
decklift armsup andout of the way.
