2) Base Set Test SPEC
Items to Test
Testing Conditions and Test Commands
1. Supply the power to Base set.
Test Mode
2. You may enter the test mode by shorting the test mode with power supplied.
3. In principle, the cable for RF measurements is free of loss.
**TX Test Mode
TX Power
1. Adjust the TX Power with HP8920A set to the TX Test mode
(Adjusting the 'PWR' of RF).
1. Adjust the TX Frequency in the TX Test mode of HP8920A
TX Frequency
(Adjusting the 'FREQ' of RF).
1. Supply the audio of 1KHz, -8dBm to the FEEDING using
the AF GEN of HP8920A.
Normal Deviation
2. Adjust the modulation factor by turning the RV 401 of PCB after
selecting the 400Hz HPF, 15KHz LPF for the Filter of HP8920A.
Select the Distortion Factor and read the value displayed on the
TX Distortion
unit (Adjusting point is none).
**RX Test Mode
1. Convert the HP8920A to the RX Test Mode.
2. Set the Ext LOAD R, RF GEN and amplitude to 600ohm, corresponding
RX Audio Level
channel frequency (815.0375 MHz) and -55dBm respectively.
3. Set the AF GEN to the modulation factor of 3KHz_dev for 1KHz AUDIO.
4. Adjust the AC LEVEL by turning the RV402 of PBA after selecting the
'400Hz HPF, 15KHz LPF' for the FILTER of HP8920A.
1. Same as RX Audio Level in measuring condition.
RX Audio
2. Select the DISTORTION FACTOR and read the value

(Adjusting point is none).
1. Change the RF Level to -15dBm under the condition of measuring

2. Read the value of Distortion (Adjusting point is none).

2. Select the SNR Factor and read the value (Adjusting point is none).

respectively under the condition of measuring the RX Audio Level.
2. Set the SINAD Factor and read the value (Adjusting point is none).
1. Same as RX Audio SINAD in measuring condition.

4.2 REMOTE TEST MODE
1) How to Enter the Test Mode
Power ON with the buttons "*" and "#" Simultaneously pressed.
"Beep" sounds and �YS TEST" is displayed on LCD and then press the buttons "*" and
"#"sequentially, then"Beep" sounds again and you may enter the Test Mode.
Then select the RF channel using numeric buttons.
