6-2. Replacement
of the main parts
(1)Replacement
of the Contact Image Sensor (CIS)
a) Remove the transmission
mechanical
unit.
(Refer to the 6-l-(2))
b) Remove the operation panel. (Refer to the 6-1-(8))
c) Remove the platen sensor. (Fig. 6-1 O)
d) Disconnect the connector
of the ClS.(Fig. 6-1 O)
e) Remove the CIS assembly.
(Fig. 6-11)
* CIS should be replaced with CIS assembly.
(2) Replacement
of the Thermal Head
a) Gather the original guide to the center and remove
two screws securing the recording paper cover.
b) Press the Open button and remove two screws
securing the cover located under the thermal head.
(Fig. 6-12)
c) Disconnect
the connector
of the thermal head.
d) Remove two screws securing the thermal head.
When attaching the thermal head to the bracket
head, the thermal head should be pressed to the
arrow direction. (Fig. 6-1 3)
(3) Replacement
of the Auto Cutter
a) Remove the receiving mechanical
unit. (Refer to
the 6-1 -(3))
b) Remove one screw securing the cutter unit.
(Fig. 6-14)
c) Disconnect the connector of the cutter unit.
d) Remove three screws securing the guide cutter
(three pieces) from the cutter unit. (Fig. 6-15)
Please note that one wire fixer is fixed together
with screw.
When re-assembling,
put it to the same position.
(4) Replacement
of the ADF (Automatic
Document
Feeder) unit
a) Open the operation panel.
b) Remove two screws securing the ADF unit.
(Fig. 6-16)
c) Replace new ADF unit and check the performance.
