    Instead, shut off the gas supply at a location external to the appliance. • Do not use this water heater if any part has been under water. The possible damage to a flooded appliance can be extensive and present numerous safety hazards. Any appliance that has been under water must be replaced.

    2. Standard Shield water heaters are equipped to operate from sea level to 4,500 feet only with no adjustments. The water heater will de-rate by 4% for each 1,000 feet above sea level up to 4,500 feet. 3. High altitude Shield water heaters are equipped to operate from 3,000 to 12,000 feet only with no field adjustments.
