    Chapter 1. ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock ® This chapter contains product information for the ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock (hereafter called ultra dock). About the ultra dock This section contains product description, main features, locations of controls, and system requirements for the ultra dock.

    Installing the device driver on Windows operating systems To install the device driver on the Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system, do the following: 1. Go to http://www.lenovo.com/support/docks and select ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock. 2. Locate and download the installation file for the device driver.

    • Click the Uninstall a program option under the Programs menu. • Click Programs and Features. 3. Select the Lenovo USB Display and then right-click your mouse. The Uninstall option is displayed. 4. Click Uninstall. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall the device driver.

    The Gigabit Ethernet connection on the ultra dock fully supports the ThinkVantage Access Connections program. The Gigabit Ethernet connection on the ultra dock supports Preboot execution environment (PXE) boot on the selected Lenovo notebook computers.     1. The ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock icon is not displayed on the screen. The ThinkPad USB 3.0 Ultra Dock icon is displayed only when an external monitor is connected to the ultra dock. If an external monitor is connected, ensure that the video cable is fully inserted into the ultra dock and the monitor.
  • Page 20 It is recommended that you connect your 2.4 GHz device receiver to the front USB 3.0 connector on the ultra dock and avoid connecting another USB 3.0 device next to the connector with the receiver attached. 5. When you connect your device (such as a mobile phone) to the dock for charging, the charging speed becomes slow.

    To use the DVI-I video output connector, connect the DVI cable of the external monitor to the DVI-I video output connector on the pro dock. You also can connect an external monitor with a VGA connector to the pro dock using a DVI-I to VGA adapter.
