Mute
When the Mute switch is activated, the volume level is reduced by 20 db. This
enables you to reduce the sound level without turning the Volume control and
also extends the range of the Volume control down to - 70 db.
Loudness
Touch the Loudness switch to provide bass and treble boosting at low volume.
The boosting circuit compensates tor the tendancy of the human ear to be less
responsive to low and high freQuencies at low volume levels.
Mode Selector
The Mode Selector is used to selectthe stereophonic and monophonic listening
modes as follow:
STEREO - Normal stereo reproduction.
REVERSE - Stereo reproduction with right and left channels reversed.
L

R - Monophonic reproduction with the right and left channels mixed.
L - Monophonic reproduction ot the left channel information only.
R - Monophonic reproduction of the right channel information only.
Tape Selector
The Tape Selector is used to select the various tunctions tor tape recording,
playback, monitor and tape duplicating as tollows:
A-B
DUB Used to duplicate tape trom tape deck A to tape deck B. In this
position you can duplicate a tape while listening to a different pro-
gram source such as the tuner or record player. It a three-head
tape deck is being used tor recording (tape deck B), you can moni-
tor the recording in progress by activating the Monitor switch. If
you wish to listen to the tape that is being duplicated (tape deck A),
you must place the Tape Selector in the A position and activate
the Monitor switch.
Used tor playback and tape monitor of a tape deck connected to
the Tape A terminals. If you have connected a three-head tape
deck to the Tape A terminals, you can monitor a recording in pro-
gress by placing the Tape Selector in this position and activating
the Monitor switch.
SOU RCE - Used tor all other modes of operation such as record player, tuner
and auxiliary. This position is used when recording a program trom
the record player, tuner or auxiliary inputs. You can also use the
Source position tor tape monitor and playback of the tape deck
that is connected to the Tape A terminals simply by activating the
Monitor switch.
Used tor playback and tape monitor of a tapedeckconnected to the
TAPE B terminals.lfyou have connected a three-head tape deck to
the Tape B terminals, you can monitor a recording in progress by
placing the Tape Selector in the B position and activating the
Monitor switch.
B-A
DUB Used to duplicate a tape trom tape deck B to tape deck A. In this
position you can play a tape on tape deck Band record it on tape
deck A while you are listening to a different program source such
as the tuner or record player. It a three-head tape deck is being
used tor recording (tape deck A), you can monitor the recording
in progress by activating the Monitor switch. If you wish to listen to
the tape that is being duplicated (tape deck B), you must place the
Tape Selector in the B position and activate the Monitor switch.
