NORMAL OPERATION The Thunderbay Powerhead requires approximately a two hour break-in period before the clutch will transfer maximum power. During this break-in period clutch slippage may occur. Make sure that the clutch is always kept free of oil or other moisture for efficient operation. - Page 8 ENGINE STARTING (COLD & WARM) Y43 Model CAUTION WARNING MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS IN A STABLE POSITION ALWAYS HANDLE FUEL IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA, BEFORE PULLING STARTER. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE Y43 Model CAUTION MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING: AUGER MAINTENANCE The gear case has 4 oz. of grease installed at the ENGINE MUST BE TURNED OFF TO COOL AND SPARK PLUG WIRE MUST BE REMOVED FROM SPARK PLUG factory. - Page 10 CLEANING FOAM AIR FILTER Y43 Model STEPS FOR CLEANING BLOCK STYLE FOAM AIR FILTER NOTE: SEE PARTS EXPLOSION ON PAGE 16 Before removing the air filter cover, move the choke lever to the choke position. (Figure 1) To remove air filter cover, get away the bolt on the cover and squeeze the latch tabs on both sides of the cover.
