18.5.29 Adjusting the valve clearance

Remove screw
Crank over the engine repeatedly.
308583-10
Position the engine at ignition top dead center.
Markings
camshafts.

Check the valve clearance at all valves between the camshaft and cam levers.
Guideline
Valve clearance
Intake at: 20 °C (68 °F)
Exhaust at: 20 °C (68 °F)
Feeler gauge (59029041100) (

If the valve clearance does not meet specifications:
Adjust the valve clearance. (
Mount and tighten screw
Guideline
Screw plug, crankshaft location

Main work
Remove the timing chain tensioner. (
Remove the camshaft. (
Raise cam levers
Correct the shims according to the findings from checking the valve clearance.
Install the camshafts. (
Install the timing chain tensioner. (
