The mouse

at

which are rotated
as
the mouse is
moved. generating
electncal pulses

convey coordinate information
to the
computer

ball which

mounted
in
the bottom
of
the mouse

values to be
generated when
the mouse

a
flat
surf
ace.
The name
"mouse" is
used
simply because of
the
wh1 msi·
cal
notion that the
device's
range
of
movements
resemble the
random

ons
which a
real mouse m1ght
make.
The mouse
