The Radio Collar Receiver The radio collar has two modes of operation: “Training Mode”and “Containment Mode”. In Training Mode the correction mechanism is switched off but the warning sound will still activate at the boundary. Leave the collar in Training Mode during the initial two days of training. Also, switch to Training Mode whenever you want to test or adjust the Activation Distance.

Move away from the boundary. Wait for the correction mechanism to stop. If the correction mechanism failed you will hear the 3-beep alert again. Repeat to verify result. Contact Sureguard if the collar fails this test. If the correction worked this will cancel the 3-beep alert.

Battery Installation Battery life for a well behaved dog can be up to 18 months but frequent encounters with the boundary will reduce this. A low batter y will trigger the Alert Indicator. Insert a new battery as soon as this happens. The lithium type CR-2032 battery has a long shelf-life so you may want to have spares on hand.
