    Warranty and liability Vita Systems are manufactured und inspected taking high quality and safety standards into consideration. However, the warranty and liability do not cover personal injuries and property damage which can be attributed to one or more causes such as the following: o Failure to follow these assembly instructions and operating instructions.

    The systems may only be combined and installed with the respective fireplace insert from Arcadia. The systems may not be set up with components from third-party suppliers; doing so will render all guarantee and warranty claims null and void.
  • Page 5: On-Site Requirements

    On-site requirements It is necessary to check on-site circumstances such as the bearing capacity of the floor before the installation. Depending on the model, the total weight of the fireplace insert (including cladding) may be up to 600 kg. If it is not possible to evaluate the bearing capacity of the floor (wooden beam ceilings, for instance), then a structural engineer should be consulted.

    Arcadia Vita series fireplace inserts can be supplied with combustion air either directly from the room or from the outdoors via a duct. Follow the instructions in the Arcadia Vita fireplace insert manual when setting up the combustion air supply.

    Fire protection The technical fire safety specifications in these instructions must be followed when installing the Vita System. All distances specified are minimum distances which must be observed. 12.1. Floor coverings near the fireplace Floors made of flammable materials near the combustion opening of the Vita System must be protected by a covering made of non-flammable materials.

Radiation protection When installing on installation surfaces which are non-flammable and must be protected, the fireplace insert of the Vita System must be fitted with a radiation protection sheet. This prevents thermal stress points from forming and adjoining components becoming heated to an impermissible degree.

    Installation of the fireplace The Vita System must be installed by at least 2 persons. It is essential to follow the steps described in the order specified in the “Installation order” chapter. As an example, we show the installation process on the Vita System frontale 60 SL model, but the same process can be used on the other models.

    Installation order Base element The base element provided must be positioned at the proper location and aligned horizontally using the adjustment feet. In the case of wall-flush installation, the base element must be completely pushed up against the installation wall. Special instructions on the Classic corner decoration elements in the case of wall-flush installation.

    Installation of the fireplace insert Once aligned, the fireplace insert can be installed on the base element. This work must be performed by at least 2 persons. Now align the fireplace insert at the front and adjust it to the suitable height. Observe the dimensions specified in the white boxes below.

  • Page 23 Screen mounts for slide-up version (SL) In the case of Vita System claddings with the slide-up combustion chamber door (SL), the mounts provided for fastening the screen must be screwed onto the fireplace insert after cladding elements 1 & 2 have been installed. To accomplish this, attach the angled steel profiles to the body as shown in the following: Then slide in the screen frame and fasten it to the steel profiles with the four M5 screws and the cage nuts.
  • Page 24 Inserting the hearth (optional accessory) In the case of the Vita System with a hearth, the hearth must be inserted in the cut-out intended for it. In this case, the hearth must be positioned beneath the sill of the fireplace insert. In doing so, pay attention to the horizontal and vertical fitting and reinforce the seams with adhesives for tiles or mortar.

  • Page 26 Radiation protection sheet for wall-flush installation (optional accessory) In the case of a wall-flush installation, the mounting wall must be protected by a radiation protection sheet. The radiation protection sheets are specifically configured for the Vita System frontale and Vita System angolo models and prevent thermal stress points forming on the mounting wall. The radiation protection sheets are not included in the standard Vita System delivery and must be ordered separately.

  • Page 29 Installing the combustion chamber frame Now, screw the combustion chamber frame onto the fireplace insert and readjust the combustion chamber frame if necessary. Storage elements 2 & 5 must end parallel to the screen. To do so, insert the combustion chamber frame straight into the cladding (Detail A) and screw it on using the screws provided (Detail B).
  • Page 30 Installing the top plate Finally, the top plate must be placed onto the system. When doing so, make sure that it fits flush to the cladding elements. The dummy cover for the flue gas connection on top must be removed before the top plate is placed on and replaced once the installation has been completed!

    Surface finish If the Vita System is plastered, the fireplace insert should be heated in advance. This is done to prevent expansion cracks from forming. The following measures must be taken before applying the plaster to the surface: • Dampen the surfaces with a sponge so that the bonding finish to be applied can take a good hold on the stone surface.
