I have an older Aprilaire 550. It's leaking at the bottom of the unit. I have changed the panel and cleaned out the distribution tray. But this hasn't stopped the leaking. The unit doesn't appear to come with any sort of water sensor float. Looking for a solution.

Possible solutions for a leaking Aprilaire 550 unit after changing the panel and cleaning the distribution tray include:
1. Check Water Panel Orientation – Ensure the new water panel is installed correctly with the colored spot facing up. 2. Inspect the Scale Control Insert – Clean any calcium buildup and ensure it is properly seated. 3. Verify Proper Assembly – Ensure all components, including the distribution tray and feed tube, are securely in place. 4. Examine the Drain Hose – Remove, flex, and flush it to clear any blockages before reattaching. 5. Check for Excess Buildup – Clean out any remaining mineral deposits that could be causing overflow. 6. Ensure Even Water Flow – The textured surface of the water panel should be correctly positioned to distribute water evenly.
If the issue persists, further inspection of the feed nozzle and strainer screen may be necessary.
