OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
Operator maintenance includes such pre
ventive maintenance as normal checking, cleaning,
operating considerations, etc., performed period
ically on a routine scheduled basis. The purpose
of t he maintenance is to keep the console in the
best of operating conditions thereby reducing the
possibility of downtime.
The following list is a general guide to oper
ator maintenance:
o Always plug the printer into a 3-wire
grounded outlet.
o Ensure that all covers are closed and
secured during operation.
o Never operate the console without paper.
o Avoid leaning or placing objects on any
part of the console.
o Turn power OFF before replacing paper or
ribbon cartridge.
o No beverage should be on or near the
console.
o No food should be on or near the console.
o Keep outside covers clean and free of
debris.
o Clean and dust the inside areas of the print
mechanism.
