- Page 14 INFORMATION The measuring principle This scale operates based on bioelectrical impedance analysis, BIA, where imperceptible, completely harmless and safe alternating current is used for the measurement of body metrics within a few seconds. With the measurement of electrical resistance (impedance) and the inclusion of constants as well as individual values (age, height, gender, and activity level), a person’s body fat and other body metrics can be determined.
