1.2 Features
System board
The features of the system board are described in the technical manual for the
system board D2440 for the hardware and in the "BIOS Setup" for the firmware
(see "Literature" on page 87).
Hard disk drives
The server includes two drive cages with up to six (2x3) SAS/SATA2 hard disk
modules. Each hard disk module can accommodate an SAS/SATA2 hard disk
drive with a maximum height of 1 inch. The module is connected to the
SAS/SATA2 backplane wirelessly. This allows hard disk drive modules to be
simply plugged in or pulled out (for further details see "Hot plug hard disk drives"
on page 73).
The hard disk subsystem is designed for SAS/SATA 2, each with one channel
for each hard disk drive.
If the server has the corresponding RAID configuration, HDD modules can also
be exchanged during operation.
